The Sower, Laverton » The Sower
This memorial window was created for the beautiful country church of Laverton in Somerset. The theme of the parable of the sower was used, as the window is in memory of a man who was both farmer and church warden at Laverton. I used a combination of engraving and painting techniques to create the imagery. As the window is quite high, I used bright uplifting colours such as yellow and orange. In the left hand light, the face of the Sower is seen, under which nestles the village of Laverton. In the right hand light, the hand scatters the seed.
